for a free 8 piece string session at Evoke Studios, Leeds
We are offering a fully funded place to record with a professional 8 piece string section at Evoke Studios in Leeds. We are looking for female artists, including those of marginalised gender, who have the enthusiasm to take their music to the next level, and whose music would benefit from having real strings. If you have previously used string samples or midi strings in your tracks then this is an opportunity to record them for real. We will help the accepted applicants turn their midi strings parts into scores.
Deadlines for applications is 3rd February 2022. Chosen applicants will be informed by 10th February 2022. The session will take place on Sunday 27th February at Evoke Studios, Leeds. The chosen artists are welcome to attend in person or attend the session remotely.

UP NORTH SESSION ORCHESTRA:
The Up North Session Orchestra was founded by Sheffield based Liz Hanks and Natalie Purton who lives in Manchester. Over the years they have worked with major recording artists, producers and film composers including: Nico Muhly, Richard Hawley, Thea Gilmore, Jarvis Cocker, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot and John Cale. UNSO are always keen to encourage and promote new artists and are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to female composers in Yorkshire.

Launchpad supports the music sector in Yorkshire, providing and signposting to advice, funding and opportunities - for artists, music businesses and music industry professionals.

Established in 2019, Evoke Studios is situated in Chapel Works, Leeds. We love this studio as it has really relaxed atmosphere and is the ideal place to be creative and feel at home.
